Film shooting now adapted from David Nicholls’ bestselling novel.

British actors Rafe Spall, Jamie Sives, Ken Stott and Jodie Whittaker have joined the cast of Lone Scherfig’s One Day, which has begun shooting in the UK.

A feature adaptation of David Nicholls’ bestselling novel, One Day charts the relationship between Emma and Dexter in the 20 years following their 1988 graduation.

Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess have already been confirmed as the two leads, with Romola Garai signed up to play the “other woman.”  

The film, which has been scripted by Nicholls, is shooting on location in the UK, Scotland and France. It is Scherfig’s first feature since An Education.

Developed by Film4 and Random House, the film is being produced by Former Disney studio chief Nina Jacobson.

Focus Features hold worldwide rights, with a scheduled release for the third quarter of 2011.
