Online distributor SnagFilms has announced it will provide portions of its video library to the new documentary channel on Hulu, the online video service that offers features, TV shows and clips for free.

In addition to featuring documentaries from SnagFilms' library of 600 titles, the Hulu documentary channel will provide viewers with access to frequent bonus content.

SnagFilms also released new performance metrics achieved since it launched in July 2008. According to the information, widgets have appeared on more than 300m web pages, more than 1.5m pictures have been streamed, and more than 20,000 visitors have embedded SnagFilms widgets on their pages.

SnagFilms was founded by philanthropist and digital entrepreneur Ted Leonsis and is additionally backed by AOL co-founder and Revolution chairman Steve Case, philanthropist and former digital executive Jean Case, operating executive and philanthropic venture capitalist Miles Gilburne, and a group led by Ted and Jim Pedas, founders of Circle Films.
