Family Christmas adventure currently in post
Stuttgart-based sales outfit Sola Media has taken on sales rights to family Christmas adventure When Santa Fell To Earth. Based on the novel by Cornelia Funke and produced by Uschi Reich, the film is directed by Oliver Dieckmann.
Currently in post, the film’s cast is led by Alexander Sheer (Carlos) as Santa Claus, Volker Lechtenbrink, Jessica Schwarz, Fritz Karl, Noah Kraus and Mercedes Jadea Diaz. Sola Media is handling world sales and will show a promo here in Cannes. It is the first time Sola has collaborated with Reich, a producer of many hit family films.
Meanwhile, branching out from the box office success of kids’ movie Twigson in Norway, the second film in the Twigson trilogy, Twigson Ties The Knot (screening at the Cannes Market on Sola Media’s slate) is also reaching buyers. It has now been sold to Germany/Switzerland (Polyband) Austria (Einhorn) Belgium (Je Kino), Holland (Twin Film), Hungary (Anjou Lafayette), Poland (Fimograf), Estonia (Estin), Romania (Cinecorvin) and The Middle East (MIP).
Based on the books by Anne Cath. Vestly, the film marks director Martin Lund´s debut. It is produced by Finn Gjerdrum and Stein B. Kvae from Paradox, the outfit behind A Somewhat Gentle Man, Fatso, Troubled Water and Hawaii, Oslo.
