Veteran Australian actor Colin Friels is to star in Solo,the winner of Australia's Project Greenlight film-making competition.

Friels,who has been in about 30 films, is taking the starring role of Barrett, anenforcer who wants to get out of working for a group of Sydney underworldbusinessmen known as The Gentlemen.

BojanaNovakovic, Angie Milliken, Bruce Spence Linal Haft and actor/comedian Anh Doalso star.

Writer/director Morgan O'Neill begins shooting later thismonth. At the same time TV channel Move Extra will run a 12-part docu-seriesthat chronicles the filmmaking competition and the production of Solo.

Solo will be released in cinemas, then also screen on thepay TV channel.

O'Neill is an actor and writer/director. His script won from1200 submitted projects to the competition. Sue Milliken is the executiveproducer of Solo and Sue Seeary is producing.

Friels also appears in The Book Of Revelations, thesecond film from the acclaimed director Ana Kokkinos, who wrote the script withAndrew Bovell. The film is currently in post-production.
