Kevin Spacey will receivethe Peter J Owens Award at the 45th San Francisco International FilmFestival which takes place this year April 18 to May 2. The award, named afterlocal benefactor and longtime festival board member Owens honours an actorwhose work "exemplifies brilliance, independence and integrity."

The award will be presentedto Spacey at Film Society Awards Night on April 25 when Warren Beatty will behonoured with the Akira Kurosawa Award for film directing. Spacey will beinterviewed on stage the previous day (Apr 24) prior to a screening of SwimmingWith Sharks (1994). Uncle Frank, thedocumentary which his production company produced, will also be screening atthe festival.

Spacey has won two Oscars- for The Usual Suspects(1995) and American Beauty (1999)among many other awards. His other credits include Seven (1995), LA Confidential (1997), Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil (1997), The Negotiator (1998), Hurlyburly (1998), The Big Kahuna (2000), Pay It Forward (2000), K-PAX (2001) and The Shipping News (2001). He will next be seen in United States Of Leland which he alsoproduced and Alan Parker's The Life Of David Gale.
