Spain's Admira (Telefonica Media) has created a content acquisitions division to be overseen by Ele Juarez, general manager of strategic alliances.

By centralising rights management Admira aims "to take maximum advantage of synergies within the group." The company also points to a streamlined presence for all the group's holdings under one roof, giving the new acquisitions force "greater negotiating power to close global accords."

The new policy of streamlining acquisitions was already evident in October when Admira acquired non-exclusive rights to Warner Bros product for exploitation in its TV holdings in Spain and Argentina.

Admira houses Spanish conglom Telefonica's media interests, including but not limited to Dutch entertainment giant Endemol, Spanish TV platforms Via Digital and Antena 3, producers Lolafilms and Patagonik, and Argentine TV networks Telefe and Azul TV.
