SpyglassEntertainment has signed a four-year free-TV output deal with RTI, thetelevision arm of Italian communications giant Mediaset, that will include theupcoming Memoirs of A Geisha and The Legend Of Zorro.

It's another direct relationship engineered by Spyglass followingthree existing long-term TV output deals in Europe with Canal Plus in France,with Pro Sieben in Germany and with Telecinco in Spain.

"This is the only one-on-one agreement that we have with aproduction company and we look forward to a long lasting and closerelationship," said Guido Barberi, general manager of RTI's rights and dramadivision in a statement.

RTI had handledprevious Spyglass titles such as The Sixth Sense and Bruce Almighty.

"We are thrilledto be partnered with such a diverse organisation as RTI and their talentedmanagement team," Spyglass co-chairmen and co-chief executive officers GaryBarber and Roger Birnbaum said in a joint statement.

"The platform ofthree different networks [Canale 5, Italia 1, and Retequattro] serving threedifferent audiences will provide a free television portal for a wide variety ofSpyglass films."

RTI's filmacquisitions advisor Faruk A Alatan negotiated the deal with Spyglass.

Coming off thesuccess of The Pacifierearlier this year and this weekend's smash opening of The Hitchhiker's GuideTo The Galaxy, Spyglassis riding high. Geisha andZorro mark thecompany's first two films with Sony Pictures with which it has a non-exclusivefirst-look deal.
