Ben Stambler has been promoted to the position of vice president of acquisitions and development at THINKFilm.

Stambler will continue to work out of the company's headquarters in New York where he started last March as director of acquisitions.

During his relatively short time with the company Stambler has been instrumental in the acquisition of titles like Alex Gibney's documentary Taxi To The Dark Side, Helen Hunt's directorial debut Then She Found Me, Daniele Luchetti's Italian film My Brother Is An Only Child and the forthcoming Blue Valentine, which marks the first time THINKFilm is fully financing a feature.

'Ben has been a tremendous asset to the company and what better way to prepare for our planned change and growth than to let him change and grow with us'' head of US theatrical Mark Urman said.

Prior to THINKFilm Stambler served as manager of acquisitions at Magnolia Pictures.
