Last weekend's massive international launch of Star Wars:Episode III - Revenge Of The Sith ignited the early summer season and thepicture should continue to be the main attraction this weekend.

Thesixth instalment in George Lucas' sci-fi saga grossed a staggering $145.5m whenit opened day-and-date in more than 110 markets through Fox International lastweekend.

New and repeat business across the world should push theinternational total well past $200m and the global total past $400m, and alleyes will be on the opening in South Korea on May 26 on 277 prints.

Elsewhere the distributor plans to open the Woody Allencomedy Melinda And Melinda in Australia on May 26, followed a day laterin Brazil and Mexico. The picture has grossed $12.7m to date.

New Line International opens the comedy Monster In Lawin a number or major markets this weekend, including France on May 25, andGermany and Australia a day later.

The picture has amassed $6.1m so far, the bulk of whichcomes from the UK, where after two weekends the picture stands at $5.9m.

DreamWorks International's animated feature Madagascarlaunches day-and-date with North America in a number of smaller markets throughUIP this weekend, opening in Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore on May 27.

Universal's White Noise opens through UIP in ItalyMay 27, while Paramount's drama Coach Carter opens in Australia on May 26.

Sony Pictures Releasing International (SPRI) opens KungFu Hustle in its first non-Asian markets and its first markets of 2005. Themartial arts romp goes out in Italy and India on May 27 on 154 and 126 screensrespectively.

Kung Fu Hustle enjoyed a storming run throughAsia last year and SPRI chiefs will be looking for more magic in the remainingterritories. The picture has grossed $66.3m at time of writing.

Buena Vista International (BVI) opens The Pacifier inthe UK on May 27 and will look for continued success on the sleeper family hit,which has amassed $59m to date.

Elsewhere Sin City gets its first internationalopening in Taiwan on May 28, and the romantic comedy A Lot Like Lovewill be looking to increase its $2.9m international running total with arelease in Argentina on May 26.

Warner Bros Pictures International was due to open horror title House of Wax in France on May 25, followed on May 26 with the UK, and a day later in Italy and South Africa, among others. The international cumulative total is $4.2m.
