Miramax's Starsky & Hutch launched in its final international market of Italyat the weekend, opening top on an impressive $2.3m including previews through BuenaVista International (BVI).
Miramax International executives originally had exhibitorsupport to release the police caper in June, but decided against such a movewhile the Euro 2004 football championships were in progress.
Owen Wilson, who plays Hutch opposite Ben Stiller'sStarsky, recently visited Italy in support of the picture. Starsky &Hutch has grossed $76.5m at theinternational box office to date.
Elsewhere Spy Kids 3enjoyed a decent hold in its second weekend in Spain, adding $861,000 throughBVI to elevate the family picture's cumulative total there to $3.2m. Thepicture has taken $83m from all its markets to date.
