Leading Thai producer-distributor GMM Tai Hub (GTH) will debut a new portmanteau film 4bia (pronounced as 'phobia') at the Cannes Film Market.

The new picture is directed by four horror gurus: Parkpoom Wongpoom and Banjong Pisanthanakun (the duo directors behind Shutter and Alone), Paween Purijitpanya (Body) and veteran filmmaker Yongyoot Thongkongtoon in his first horror directorial debut after producing a string of successful horror hits.

Yongyoot is also the producer of the new picture which consists of four separate stories with a totally different cast although each story shares certain subtle themes.

The highly-anticipated picture will open in Thailand on April 24. The market screening at Cannes will mark its international premiere.

This year, GTH has five new productions on its slate. Last Moment about a romantic love triangle is directed by Yuthlert Sippapak (the Rahtree series) and is scheduled for release this June. Horror Coming Soon will mark the directorial debut of Sophon Sakdaphisit who co-wrote Shutter and Alone with Parkpoom and Banjong.

The company has already released two films in the first quarter. Teenage comedy Hormones directed by Songyos Sugmakanan (Dorm) has collected over $2.54 m (80m baht), making it Thailand 's highest grossing film so far this year. It also scored this year's best opening weekend with 40m baht.

Writer-director Kongdej Jaturanrasamee's Handle Me With Care about a man with three hands was recently screened at the Hong Kong International Film Festival and will next play at the Udine Far East Film Festival in Italy.
