The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) presentednearly half a million dollars in donations to the Sundance Institute and othernon-profit organisations at its annual installation luncheon in Beverly Hillsfor incoming officers.

Cameron Diazaccepted a $200,000 cheque on behalf of the Film Foundation Inc while otherrecipients included: Don Cheadle on behalf of Independent Feature Project West;director Alexander Payne on behalf of the Sundance Institute; Diane Lane onbehalf of FilmAid International; Diane Keaton on behalf of Los AngelesConservancy; Edward James Olmos on behalf of the Los Angeles LatinoInternational Film Festival; and Anne and Kirk Douglas on behalf of theirPlayground Awards Program.

The HFPA handedout cheques totalling $488, 900 and has granted $2,973,900 in charitabledonations over the past eight years.

Earlier inyesterday's ceremony re-elected president Dagmar Dunlevy announced the rosterof new officers: Lawrie Masterson, vice president; Theo Kingma, executivesecretary; Serge Rakhlin, treasurer; and board members Lorenzo Soria(chairman), Phil Berk, Yoram Kahana, Mira Panajotovic, Marlene von Arx and RuiCoimbra (alternate).
