A pair of films from EuropaCorp will open and close the 15th annual Sonoma event, set to run in the Californian Wine Country from Apr 11-15.

For the first time festival organisers have scheduled La Quinceañera Film Fiesta, a festival-within-a-festival that showcases the Sonoma Valley’s vibrant Latino community and is sponsored by the Fred & June MacMurray Foundation.

La Quinceañera will run from Apr 13-15 and presents a roster films from Mexico, Cuba, Spain, Venezuela and other Spanish-speaking countries alongside films by American Latino directors.

The Sonoma line-up includes the international premiere of the Scottish animation Sir Billi featuring the voice talent of Sean Connery, The Girls In The Band, Kevin MacDonald’s Bob Marley documentary Marley, Lady Gaga’s Secret World by Brian Aabeck and festival favourites Starbuck and Terraferma.

Events include a fiftieth anniversary digitally remastered screening of Ben Hur, a live performance of John Waters’ vaudeville act This Filthy World and a tribute to Christopher Lloyd.
