Touchstone's The Ladykillers enjoyed two strong openings in its debut markets ofSpain and Japan through Buena Vista International (BVI) at the weekend.

The remake opened third in Spain and grossed $1m on 208screens, while Japan produced $700,000 from 140. The picture's earlyinternational running total therefore stands at $1.7m.

BVI executives confirmed that Warner Bros' Starsky& Hutch and Miramax's KillBill Vol 2 have amassed $70.8m and $36.8mrespectively.
