The Last Samurai is poised to pass $250m at the international boxoffice this upcoming weekend when Warner Bros Pictures International unleashesit in Russia.

The epic adventure goes outon 170 screens and has amassed $249.2m from all its markets to date.

The romantic comedy Something'sGotta Give begins its European release following an out of competition slotat Berlin and has openings in France (340 screens), Italy (220) and the UK(approximately 270 sites). It has grossed $9.9m to date.

The distributor will alsoopen the action title Torque in Germany on 350 screens and Mexico on200. Torque has notched up $2.9m at the international box office to dateand is in the early stages of release.

New Line International's TheLord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King can expect strong holdovers todrive its international running total towards $600m. Peter Jackson's acclaimedfantasy hit has amassed $578.8m from all its markets to date and is tracking27% ahead of trilogy predecessor The Two Towers.

Columbia TriStar FilmDistributors International (CTFDI) opened Big Fish in Australia earliertoday (5) on 227 prints. The drama is in very early stages of release and hasgrossed $4.2m so far.

Peter Pan opened in France yesterday (4) on 600 prints and isexpected to do very strong business. The live-action film has grossed $31.2mthrough all distributors.

Universal will open theromantic comedy Love Actually through UIP in Japan on Feb 7 on 210prints in what is expected to be a major bow. The film has grossed $153.2m throughUIP to date and $158.5m through all distributors.

The dance drama Honeywill open in Mexico on Feb 6 on 75 prints and has amassed a $12.6minternational running total.

Fox International opensthriller Runaway Jury in Spain on Feb 6 on 223 prints. The film hastaken $11.8m to date.

The distributor is alsorolling out Fox Searchlight's Oscar-nominated drama In America in Mexicotoday (5) on 70 prints and in both Italy and Brazil on Feb 6 on 42 and 20respectively. The film has taken $7m so far.

The Dreamers opens in the UK on Feb 6 on 40 prints in what willbe Fox's first major opening for Bernardo Bertolucci's highly anticipateddrama.

Latest figures put MasterAnd Commander: The Far Side Of The Word on $103.5m through all distributorsand the comedy Stuck On You on $19.9m.

Buena Vista International(BVI) will open Master And Commander in Mexico on Feb 6. The navaladventure has grossed $16.3m to date from BVI territories.

The family sequel SpyKids 3 opened in Germany earlier today (5). The film has grossed $37.6m andexecutives will hope it improves on the $443,571 gross taken by Spy Kids 2when it opened in eighth place in January 2003 in 300 theatres.

The romance Under TheTuscan Sun opens in Brazil and Spain on Feb 6 and executives are seeking tobuild on its early $1.9m cumulative score.

In other latest runningtotals released by BVI, Finding Nemo is on $510.2m, the sleeper hit CalendarGirls is on $57.2m, Brother Bear is on $50.1m and The HauntedMansion has grossed $16.2m.
