Ahead of the Cannes Film Festival, London-based The Works International has come on board for romantic comedy French Film.

Shorts and commercials director Jackie Oudney makes her feature directorial debut with the bittersweet story starring Hugh Bonneville, Anne-Marie Duff, Douglas Henshall, Victoria Hamilton and Eric Cantona.

Producers are Arvind Ethan David and Rachel Connors of new digital studio slingshot and Jonny Persey and Stuart Le Marechal for APT Films. Judy Counihan is executive producing.

The Catherine Tate Show veteran Aschlin Ditta wrote the script, about a British journalist and his friends who struggle with their love lives while he prepares to interview a Frenchman who is a self-proclaimed expert on love.

The project is shooting now in London.
