THINKFilm has picked up all North American rights to ShaneCarruth's micro-budget thriller Primer, which won the Grand Jury Prize at this year's SundanceFilm Festival.

Carruth wrote, directed, produced and starred in the picture,which centres on the discovery by two men of a device that enables them to doanything they want. Newcomer David Sullivan also stars.

"Primer is a mind-blowing experience that both celebrates andreinvents the sci-fi genre," THINKFilm's theatrical division head Mark Urmansaid.

"In a strong dramatic competition it stood apart from the crowdfor its narrative innovation, thematic ambition, and stylistic daring. Shane isa major new talent."

Randy Manis, THINKFilm's senior vice president of acquisitions andbusiness affairs, negotiated the deal with William Morris Independent.

Carruth added, "I'm ecstatic to be involved with a company with atrack record like THINKFilm and even more so because they had faith in the filmbefore it won any awards."
