THINKFilm inpartnership with Screen Media Films has acquired North American theatricalrights to Kevin Bacon's Loverboy, which premiered at Sundance in Jan this year and stars Kyra Sedgwickas an obsessive mother.

THINK plans aspring release to coincide with the launch of the second season of Sedgwick'stelevision crime series The Closer.

Based on Victoria Redel's novel, Loverboy centres on a financially secure single mother whodotes over her son and must hold on to him when he reaches school age.

The ensemblecast includes Marisa Tomei, Matt Dillon, Oliver Platt, Campbell Scott, andSandra Bullock.

The deal wasnegotiated by Fred Gaines of Gaines, Solomon Law Group on behalf of thefilmmakers, Richard Rapkowski and Randy Manis on behalf of THINKFilm, and DavidFannon on behalf of Screen Media.

"I am thrilledwe found a distributor for Loverboy whose passion for the film is eclipsed only by their ownsophistication and expertise in marketing product like this to audiences,"Danny Bigel, who produced the film along with Bacon, Sedgwick, Michael Mailerand Avi Lerner, said.

"We've alwaysbelieved that the film will appeal to a wide audience, and know that there isno better team to realise that potential than THINK."
