Transit Film has picked up international sales on Robert Fischer's documentary Fassbinder In Hollywood which was produced to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the legendary German director's untimely death in June 1982.

The production by Fischer's Fiction FACTory and Ulli Lommel's Los Angeles-based company Lavida looks at Fassbinder's relationship to Hollywood and charts the subsequent Stateside careers of former Fassbinder collaborators such as actor-director Lommel, cinematographer Michael Ballhaus, and actress Hanna Schygulla as well as featuring interviews with Wim Wenders and film historian Ian Birnie

Fassbinder In Hollywood was screened last month at New York's Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) as part of the programme of contemporary German films showing under the banner of "KINO 2002: New German Films'.
