Trevor Wright has been named president of North American operations at Omega Entertainment and will oversee international sales from Los Angeles.

Wright is in Cannes to talk up the alien abduction satire Little Green Men based on Christopher Buckley's bestseller and the thriller Heartless starring Jim Sturgess and Clemence Poesy.

The slate includes the upcoming horror thriller Grimm to star Bruce Willis, eco-adventure Luna, comic book adaptation Mandrake, Nanking massacre drama Purple Mountain and comedy The Six Wives Of Henry Leaf with Tim Allen.

Omega president Peter Rogers will continue to oversee all sales, financing and production activities with a focus on production. Wright most recently served as vice president of distribution at Myriad Pictures.

'We are delighted that Trevor has joined our sales team and taken on the responsibility for heading our LA operations,' Omega founder Markus Barmettler said.

'His experience in the areas of sales and development will be invaluable as we pursue our ambitious production and sales plans.'

'I am excited to be joining Markus, Peter and the rest of the Omega team at a time when many of the company's long-nurtured projects are about to come to fruition,' Wright added.
