SamMendes will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the upcoming secondannual Directors Guild Awards for Outstanding Directorial Achievement inLondon.

The event is scheduled to take place on Mar 20. Michael Winterbottom and PeterJackson were big winners last year for In This World and The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King respectively.

Mendes is currently filming the Gulf War action comedy Jarhead in the US and Mexico for Universal Pictures and RedWagon Productions. It stars Jamie Foxx, Jake Gyllenhaal, Peter Sarsgaard andChris Cooper.
