Instant Cinema project initiated by René Daalder.

Here at the International Film Festival Rotterdam, Netherlands-based cinema organisation EYE has launched a new online platform for film and video art.

The new Instant Cinema site is now in beta phase with works by the likes of Marco Schuler, Pascual Sisto and Sietske Tjallingii.

Los Angeles-based filmmaker and multimedia expert René Daalder initiated the project, which will showcase experimental works to audience worldwide.

The website includes classics from the experimental genre (from EYE’s collection) as well as new films by emerging filmmakers and artists. The aim is to cultivate a wider audience for relatively unknown films.

Filmmakers can upload and manage their own content at no charge. Also organisations, curators and museums can also upload films. Filmmakers will be encouraged to pass on invitations to join the site.
