Power to the Pixel has announced the dates for its scheme aimed at providing film businesses with training in delivering cross media projects

Power to the Pixel’s digital training forum The Pixel Lab will run from July to October 2010.

The lab aims to provide European film and media businesses with training in creating, packaging and distributing cross media projects. It is supported by the Media Programme of the European Union, Skillset, TorinoFilmLab and ARTE.

Applications for the lab will open on 15th February, with 40 European producers, decision-makers and executives being chosen for a residential week-long workshop from 4 – 10 July 2010 with a focus on developing stories that can extend across film, television, online, gaming and mobile platforms.

Producers who attend The Pixel Lab with a cross-media project will have the opportunity to present their projects to market at Power to the Pixel’s annual Cross-Media Forum held in London in October.

Confirmed tutors include Christy Dena, director of Universe Creation 101, Ben Grass, MD of UK based Pure Grass Films, Brian Newman, former president of the Tribeca Film Institute and digital media experts and Gregor Pryor and Reed Smith.

Liz Rosenthal, Founder of Power to the Pixel said: “Power to the Pixel is excited about being able to connect leading international innovators with the European media industry and to be at the centre of developing new forms of cross-media storytelling, new methods of engaging audiences and new ways to create sustainable businesses in a digital world.”
