Miira Paasilinna, MD of new sales outfit The Yellow Affair, has unveiled details of the company’s new digital distribution platform.

The system can be used not only as an online screening room for buyers, but also for material delivery.

“All of our CRM functions are there. Clients, press, festivals can be handled through this platform,” Paasilinna told Screen. “You can actually download high resolution quality film or television series. Some channels prefer digital rather than tapes.”

The platform also has VOD functionality, which Yellow Affair isn’t using currently but could be used in the future by the company or other partners that start using the platform.

“We spent so much time and energy on the platform that we want to offer it to production companies, festivals, or even some other sales companies,” Paasilinna added. Others are testing the platform now and further development will be done soon.

The Finnish Agency for Innovation and Technology has provided some financing for the initiative.

Here at TIFF, The Yellow Affair has Dome Karukoski’s comedy Lapland Odyssey.

The current sales slate also includes Darragh Byrnes’s Parked, Bence Miklauzic’s Children of The Green Dragon, Babak Najfai’s Sebbe, Janli Pinsloo’s White As Blood, Tomas Masin’s 3 Seasons In Hell and Svante Tidholm’s Like a Pascha.

Yellow Affair has offices in Stockholm and Helsinki.
