Warner Bros International Television Distribution (WBITD) has launched the global video-on-demand channel service Warner TV.

Warner TV will comprise features and TV shows and will be available in the UK via Virgin Media's digital cable service and on BT's IPTV platform and in Japan on USEN Corporation's broadband broadcasting service GyaO.

The service soft launched in France in July on the Free IPTV and WBITD has struck a second deal with Orange.

'We feel these new services will be a compelling offering for digital cable platforms, IPTV operators and broadband aggregators looking for high quality programming with a world-class entertainment brand,' WBITD president Jeffrey R Schlesinger said.

'The fact that in most countries outside Latin America there is not a Warner linear channel makes this offering even more appealing as it will be viewed as something new and distinct by subscribers and viewers.'

WBITD previously launched the linear branded programming service Warner Channel across 20 countries in Latin America with a feature roster that includes Seven and Interview With The Vampire.
