The hire is part of the organisation’s expansion plans as it celebrates its 25th anniversary.

Watkins ran the boutique marketing firm Dirigible and in his new post will seek out corporate and event sponsors and work with partner organisations.

“Wayne brings an impressive professional background to the organisation with over two decades of successful leadership in marketing and sponsorship,” BAFTA LA executive director Donald Haber said.

“We are excited that his vast experience will support our wide-ranging events and projects, and help guide BAFTA LA beyond its current 25th anniversary year, into the future.”
