Tale of friendship and enstrangement between French cinema masters Godard and Truffat proves hot seller.

Emmanuel Laurent’s Two In The Wave, the feature-doc about the friendship and later estrangement between French Nouvelle Vague legends François Truffaut and Jean-Luc Godard, is proving a hot seller.

French sales outfit Wide Management has now closed a handful of deals on the film. British arthouse distributor New Wave Films has snapped up the film for the UK.

Other deals closed include Japan (Cetera International), Brazil (Imovision), France (Les Films Du Paradoxe) and Canada (Funfilm Distribution.)

Two In The Wave is scripted and narrated by historian and critic Antoine de Baecque. The doc will screen later this spring at Visions Du Reel, the documentary festival in Nyon in Switzerland (April 15 -21).

Alongside the documentary, De Baecque’s biography of the film-maker is due to publish shortly. Meanwhile, Godard’s film Socialisme  - sold by Wild Bunch and featuring singer Patti Smith -  is being strongly tipped for a berth in Cannes.
