French outfit Wide Management has closed UK deals on two titles on its AFM slate.

Festival favourite Youssou N'Dour: Return To Goree has been sold to Axiom. Meanwhile, Substitute, about a football player who is a substitute in the World Cup Final, has been snapped up by new UK distributor Fantasia Advertising.

The French company has also added three new titles to its AFM slate. The new batch of films, on all of which Wide has acted as producer, includes Davy Shilai's low-budget action drama Unfailing, billed as 'Battle Royale with a French touch.' Wide is screening a promo on the project here at the AFM.

Also new to Wide's slate is Billy Bang, A Road to Redemption, a documentary about US jazz musician Billy Bang returning to Vietnam where, 40 years before, he was traumatised by his experiences in the US army.

The third title I Dreamt Under The Water, directed by Hormoz, is about a young man enduring a crisis of sexual identity. TLA has taken US and UK rights.

Wide is giving a market premiere to Lucia Murat's Another Love Story, a Romeo and Juliet-style story set in the favelas of Brazil against the backdrop of a war between rival drug gangs.

The film, a prize winner at the Rio Festival, is vying for a slot in official selection in Berlin. Also premiering in AFM is Costa Rican road movie, El Camino.
