Serving up its first international matches Universal's Wimbledonaced the competition offthe court in the UK at the weekend as it opened top through UIP on an estimated$3.2m on 450 screens and 22% market share. It marks a triumph for the film'sproduction company Working Title which had seen the film flop in North America.

The romantic comedy opened in sixth place in Sweden on $100,000 on30, which played its part in a $3.3m weekend haul. The picture is due to openin Australia and New Zealand on Sept 30.

Thriller The Bourne Supremacy added $7m on 2,323 screens in 22 territories for a $64mrunning total with 26 territories still to open, including Germany on Oct 21and Japan on Feb 5 2005.

It opened in second place in Italy on $2m on 324, some 65% biggerthan its 2002 predecessor, and opened top in Brazil on $500,000 on 210 screens.Brazilian results were incomplete at time of writing.

Supremacyranked sixth in its fifth weekend in Australia as it added $480,000 on 175 anddropped 31% for $9.9m. School holidays continue next week.

In Spain a strong second weekend added $1.1m on 356 despite a 44%drop for a $3.5m running total. The picture ranked third behind the opening ofBVI's The Village andlocal language hit Mar Adentro, which has amassed $14m in 32 days.

A $300,000 haulon 152 in its seventh week in the UK raised the total there to $21m.
