US distribution venture Film Movement has bulked up its executivesuite with the appointment of Meghan Wurtz as vice president of businessdevelopment.
In the newly created role Wurtz will develop and implementsponsorship programmes, oversee theatrical releases, manage cultural relationsand secure new revenue opportunities for the company's library. She will reportto Film Movement president Stuart Litman.
Prior to joining Film Movement, Wurtz worked for European FilmPromotion (EFP), the initiative aimed at raising industry awareness of Europeancinema in North America. She will maintain her position as the EFP contact inNew York.
Before EFP she served at Northstar Media heading up internationalsales and selling concert films and documentaries to internationalbroadcasters. Before that she worked at Berlin-based media consultantsPeacefulfish.
Film Movement distributes award-winning independent and foreignpictures through traditional windows and its subscription service Film MovementSeries. Members receive an award-winning feature and a bonus short film on DVDevery month.
