Columbia TriStar Film Distributors International's XXX passed $100m toward the end of last week and now has an international running total of $110m after a $7.1m haul on 3,100 screens over the weekend. The action thriller opened number one in Argentina where enduring economic instability meant that $110,000 from 61 screens was enough to top the charts there. The picture experienced drops of around 40% in most European territories after the lucrative All Saints holiday in many parts last weekend. In the UK, the most profitable international territory so far, the picture has a $16.3m cumulative score.

The Adam Sandler comedy Mr Deeds continued to make progress with a $2.5m weekend box office for a $33m running total. It took $1.2m in the UK, rising from last week's fourth place opening to third with respectable 14% profit drop. Elsewhere for CTFDI, romantic comedy The Sweetest Thing passed $40m at the international box office. Italy and Japan are still to open, with the Japanese bow scheduled for February 2003, some seven months after the picture started its international run.

The family sequel Stuart Little 2 took $1.6m over the weekend for a $94m total and, with Brazil still to open, has a shot at $100m.
