Beastie Boys is the first Korean 'host bar' film, following the lives of young men serving the demands of female clientele.
'The film portrays the passions of youth working in a sector considered taboo in a society that holds men above women. They serve the richest 1% in the nation and it's also a reflection on modern Korea,' said Catherine Park, head of international at iHQ.
The $2.5m project, backed by the Korean Film Council, will shoot this summer.
iHQ has also sold martial arts fantasy title Shadowless Sword to SPO for Japan.
