Warner Bros Pictures Mexicohas appointed Leonardo Zimbron director of local production to spearhead thecompany's expanding operations in the Latin American territory.

Zimbron, the former generalmanager of Traziende Producciones, has extensive experience in Mexicanproduction, having collaborated with the likes of Argos and Buena Vista, aswell as government agencies such as Fedicine, Imicine and Cuec.

"Warner Bros PicturesMexico's excellent performance produced the highest combined box office resultsin Mexico last year," Juan Manuel Borbolla, general manager of Warner BrosPictures Mexico to whom Zimbron will report, said in a statement.

"This has set the stage forour plans to expand our local co-production activities by producing highquality films that will strongly appeal to the Mexican market."

Warner Bros Pictures Mexicoplans to develop and co-produce projects through its own development activitiesand in conjunction with Alfonso Cuaron and his production company, BesameMucho.

Warner Bros is finalisingtalks to co-produce with Videocine and Traziende Producciones RadicalesLibres, which is written and will bedirected by Issa Lopez.

Zimbron will shepherd theproject, which is scheduled to begin production this year.
