The world premiere of Ed Zwick's second world war Resistance drama Defiance will close the AFI FEST on November 9 in Los Angeles.

Daniel Craig, Liev Schreiber and Jamie Bell play brothers who form a band of fighters to strike back at the Nazis and avenge the deaths of their loved ones. Paramount Vantage holds North American rights and will release the film in December; Essential Entertainment has international rights to the Grosvenor Park-backed film.

The premiere will mark Zwick's second appearance at AFI FEST after he previewed scenes from and discussed Blood Diamond prior to the film's release in 2006.

AFI Fest 2008 will run from October 30-November 9. For further details visit www.AFI.com.
