Broken Embraces, Coco Before Chanel, Let The Right One In, A Prophet and The White Ribbon have been shortlisted for Orange BAFTA’s Film Not In The English Language Award

The five films will compete for the prize at British Academy Film Awards which takes place on Sunday 21 February at the Royal Opera House in London’s Covent Garden

The contenders for best foreign language film have been announced ahead of the nominees in other categories, which will be revealed on 21 January, in order to give BAFTA members a longer period to view the five films in contention.

In the BAFTA long list, Coco Before Chanel picked up five nominations including best actress for Audrey Tatou and best production design, whilst Broken Embracespicked up nominations for best original screenplay and best actress for Penelope Cruz.

A Prophet received a long list nod for best original screenplay, whilst Let The Right One In has been nominated for best adapted screenplay.
