Bavaria Film International will handle theinternational sales for Michael "Bully" Herbig's local blockbuster (T)RaumschiffSurprise - Period 1 which has been seen by over nine million cinema-goersin Germany this year. It is currently the territory's most successful releasewith a box-office gross of over Euros 50m.

The sci-fi spoof will have its market premierewith an English subtitled version at the forthcoming MIFED market under theEnglish title of Dreamship Surprise - Period 1.

Marketing manager Sebastian Kiesmueller told ScreenDaily.comthat the subtitled version will also be travelling on a promotional roadshow inthe US from next week ahead of the market premiere in Milan.

International distribution on Herbig's previoushit, Manitou's Shoe, was handled by Beta Cinema who sold the send-up of1960s German Wild West films to such territories as Russia, Spain, Japan,Turkey, Hungary, Poland and Estonia.
