The Canadian Film Centre'sWorldwide Short Film Festival wrapped this weekend, handing out 10 awards andmore than $125,000 in cash and prizes.

Best Live-Action Short wentto Hisham Zaman's Bawke from Norway, with an honourable mention to Charles Williams' The Cow Thief from Australia.

The C.O.R.E. DigitalPictures Award for Best Animated Short went to Torill Kove's The Danish Poet from Canada and Norway.

Maciej Adamek's On The Road from Poland won Best Documentary Short, while Best ExperimentalShort honours went to Osbert Parker's FilmNoir from the UK.

Best Canadian Short Film,presented by Bravo!FACT, was awarded to Greg Spottiswood for Noise.

The Jackson-Triggs Award forBest Emerging Canadian Filmmaker was shared by Maxime Giroux's Red (Le Rouge Au Sol) and Nash's Day Of John.

The Kodak Award for BestCinematography in a Canadian Short was presented to director andcinematographer Tess Girard for Benediction.

In other awards, theScreenplay Giveaway Award was given to Michael Shultz for his script Funky Prairie Boy, which gets a packageof goods and services worth $100,000 to shoot the film. Ron Vida's Under This Roof and Sarah Armenia's New Beginnings won the OMNI Pitchin' contest.

The Canadian winners areeligible for the Genie Awards and the Best Live-Action Short and Best AnimatedShort winners are up for Academy Awards consideration.

The festival screened morethan 250 shorts from 30 countries.
