Belgian exhibitor Kinepolis is planning to equip another ten of its cinema screens with the Barco DLP digital projector in addition to the existing four screens already converted to digital projection.

According to Kinepolis, the decision was taken because of the exceptional demand for these screenings in Belgium: the children's animation film Plop Et La Baguette Magique, which had been produced in high definition and originally been destined for release only on DVD, sold more than 45,000 tickets since opening digitally in September. Moreover, Kinepolis now intends to present the current blockbuster Finding Nemo in a digital projection in five of its cinemas.
