Alan Bergman has been promoted to president of The Walt DisneyStudios.

Bergman will continue to report to studio chairman Dick Cook andoversees strategy and operations for all the company's business units,including Buena Vista Motion Pictures Group, Buena Vista Pictures Distributionand Buena Vista Pictures Marketing.

"Alan is the quintessential strategist whether he's exploringnew business ventures or overseeing our operational initiatives, his expertisein these areas has been invaluable," Cook said.

"As we continue to grow our business both domestically andinternationally, and as we look to new distribution channels and develop thenewest in technological advancements, I have every confidence that Alan willguide us into the future making sure that The Walt Disney Studios remains inthe forefront of the entertainment industry."

Bergman previously served as executive vice president and chieffinancial officer of the studio, playing a key role in shaping overallstrategy. He was also a key architect in the Miramax split and the division'snew structure.

He joined the company in 1996 as a director in the corporatecontrollership group, eventually rising to executive vice president and chieffinancial officer in 2002.

Prior to Disney he spent more than seven years atPricewaterhouseCoopers in their entertainment practice.
