Meanwhile action sci-fi TheIsland was set to launch in Franceon Aug 17 and stood at more than $63.2m. By Aug 15 House Of Wax stood at $35.8mand Batman Begins had reached $161.9m.

Universal's Southern Gothicmystery Skeleton Key, whichopened in second place in the North American charts last weekend, was set toopen through UIP in Australia, Germany and Russia on Aug 18, followed by SouthKorea on Aug 19. The picture currently stands at more than $10.7m through itsmarkets.

Universal's romantic comedy ThePerfect Man opens in the UK on Aug19, as does the action thriller Danny The Dog, which stars British star Bob Hoskins and Jet Li andis known in North America as Unleashed. It's taken $3.2m to date.

Paramount's true-life highschool basketball drama Coach Carter was due to open in France through UIP on Aug 17, and has grossed $8mfrom its international run so far.

Latest figures putParamount's action epic War Of The Worlds on more than $334.9m and DreamWorks International's animated familytitle Madagascar on $237.2m.

Sony Pictures ReleasingInternational opens Bewitched,currently on $9.8m, in the UK on Aug 19 on 430 prints, and was due to open thefamily picture in Russia on Aug 18 on 119.

The Adventures OfSharkboy And Lavagirl In 3-D was due to open in France on Aug 17 on 200 and goesout in Spain on Aug 19 on 152. It's grossed $9m so far.

Deuce Bigalow: EuropeanGigolo was set to launch in itsfirst international markets of Germany and Holland on Aug 18 on 196 and 86prints respectively. The comedy sequel opened in fifth place in North Americalast weekend.

The 1999 original DeuceBigalow: Male Gigolo opened inGermany in April 2000 and ranked fifth on just over $722,500. Overall itamassed $27.4m at the international box office.

Fox International's comedyremake Guess Who, currently on$27.4m, opens in Italy on Aug 19 on 114 prints.

The action thriller MrAnd Mrs Smith goes out in Spain on465 prints on the same day and the distributor will be looking for a big launchto boost its $144.1m international running total.

Mr And Mrs Smith hasamassed more than $201.1m through all distributors to date.

Star Wars: Episode III -The Revenge Of The Sith stands at$450.8m internationally and will be bidding to stay top in Japan for theseventh weekend in a row, where it has grossed more than $62m. The picture hassold more than $826.7m in tickets worldwide.

Buena Vista International(BVI) opens The Amityville Horrorin Brazil, Italy and Mexico on Aug 19, and the horror remake stands at $7.6mthrough BVI's smattering of territories.

Herbie Fully Loaded rides out in South Korea on Aug 19 and has logged$40.2m, while The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy was set to launch in France on Aug 17 and stands at$44.5m.
