Warner Bros continued tonurture its growing relationship with IMAX Corp with news yesterday (16) thatTim Burton's Charlie And The Chocolate Factory will open on IMAX and 35mm simultaneously on Jul 152005.

The announcement follows onthe heels of the successful release of The Polar Express on IMAX 3D. As with that title, Charlie And TheChocolate Factory will be digitallyre-mastered using proprietary IMAX DMR technology.

Warner Bros Pictures will bethe exclusive distributor of Charlie And The Chocolate Factory to IMAX theatres worldwide.

"We have worked with IMAX onsix projects in the past two years, and the box office performance and responsefrom moviegoers has been consistently outstanding for each release," DanFellman, president of domestic distribution at Warner Bros said in a statement.

"With this track record ofsuccess, we plan to continue releasing films in IMAX's format day-and-date tocapitalise on a new release window and offer audiences a uniquely immersive wayto experience our blockbuster pictures.

"Warner Bros Pictures wasone of the first studios to realise the potential of IMAX DMR and we'rethrilled to be working with them once again on such a stellar motion picture,"IMAX co-chairmen and co-chief executive officers Richard L Gelfond and BradleyJ Wechsler said in a joint statement.

"Millions of moviegoersaround the world have enjoyed Warner Bros Pictures' releases digitallyre-mastered into The IMAX Experience, and Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, much like The Polar Express, is exactly the type of family event movie that hasproved to be so popular in IMAX's format."
