Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studioshas created a new division MGM Entertainment Business Group and promotedlongtime senior executive Darcie Denkert to run it. Denkert, who most recentlyheld responsibility for the company's worldwide entertainment businessand legal affairs, will now focus exclusively on developing initiatives acrossdivisional lines to further leverage the film and TV library.

Denkert, who first worked atUnited Artists in 1977, will continue to report to MGM vice chairman and COOChris McGurk.

Denkert will also overseeMGM On Stage, a new division which will focus on licensing and developmentopportunities for MGM properties as stage productions. MGM had already licensedseveral properties for development as stage productions including Sweet SmellOf Success, Moonstruck, The Pink Panther, Marty and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

As part of the restructure,MGM is decentralizing the reporting structure of its business affairsoperations, shifting them to the divisional level, so that whereas the businessaffairs executives formerly reported to Dankert, they will now report to theoperating heads of theatrical, TV, home entertainment and music respectively.
