Christopher Eccleston hassigned to star in Double Life for Sophie Balhechet and Lynda La Plante's CougarFilms.

UK TV director Joe Ahearnewill make his feature debut on the film which is set and will be shot inHungary. Ahearne has previously worked with Eccleston on the TV series DrWho.

Double Life is a story of love and obsession about a man who believes he has met - and fallen in love- with a pair oftwins, only to discover it is the same woman.

Ahearne's script, originallywritten for a London shoot, has been reworked to locate the film in Budapest totake advantage of the country's generous tax break.

"Shooting costs are farlower in Budapest than they are in London so we can make savings of at least athird," said Balhechet. "Plus, we get a tax break on anything we spend inHungary.

"Necessity is the mother ofinvention and it gave us the opportunity to reimagine it," she continued. "Joehas found a bonafide way of making it work creatively."

Hungarian and UK-basedproducer Ildiko Kemeny will co-produce the project.

Cougar's credits include OlParker's Click starring Piper Perabo and Matthew Goode.
