Berlin-based distributor Delphi Filmverleih has acquired theGerman speaking rights for Hans Weingartner's Cannes Official Competition entryThe Edukators.

Accordingto industry insiders, Delphi successfully fought off stiff competition fromsuch rival bidders as Constantin Film, X Verleih and Concorde Filmverleih. Itis also understood that sales agent Celluloid Dreams had set an asking price ofEuro 1m for the film whose production budget was just over Euro 900,000.

Delphi's recent theatrical releases have included AlexanderSokurov's Cannes 2002 Competition entry Russian Ark and Andreas Dresen'sBerlinale 2002 Silver Bear-winner Grill Point (Halbe Treppe).
