Berlin-based EasternEuropean Acquisition Pool (EEAP) went on a shopping spree at last week's CannesFilm Market, picking up titles from Lionsgate, 2929Entertainment, Studio Canaland Darclight for East European territories.

After having a huge successreleasing Saw II earlier this year inPoland, the Baltic states, ex-Yugoslavia and CIS, EEAP sealed a deal with Lionsgate for the same territories for the third part ofthe Saw franchise and also acquiredthe sci-fi thriller Daybreakerfor all Eastern Europe and CIS.

East European rights(including CIS) were also secured from 2929 Entertainment for Appaloosa, starring Ed Harris, Viggo Mortensen and Diane Lane, and from Darclight forthe Til Schweiger-starringaction thriller Body Armour.

To feed its high quality arthouse pipeline, EEAP bought East European rights(excluding CIS) for Wong Kar-wai's My Blueberry Nights and Emir Kusturica's PromiseMe This.
