The Hamburg-based, pan-European promotional organisation European Film Promotion (EFP) has selected 22 aspiring European producers for its Producers On The Move networking initiative to take place during the Cannes Film Festival next month.

Since being launched in 2000, Producers On The Move has enabled over 140 up-and-coming European producers to meet opposite numbers from all over Europe to discuss current projects and lay the foundation for future collaborations at roundtable meetings and co-production lunches.

This year's lineup, which was selected by the EFP member organisations, includes France's Marc-Antoine Robert, whose 2.4.7. Films produced the Oscar-nominated Persepolis, Norway's Silje Hopland Eik, producer of the award-winning children's film Trigger and Eva Dahr's romantic comedy Mars & Venus, the UK's Laura Hastings-Smith, lead producer on the Turner Prize-winning artist Steve McQueen's Bobby Sands drama Hunger, and Poland's Grzegorz Hajkarowicz of Gremi Film whose credits include Peter Greenaway's Nightwatching and Murilo Pasta's Polish-Spanish-Brazilian co-production Carmo.
