Fox International'sElektra grossed an estimated $5.5m on 1,721 screens at the weekend after numberone debuts in Spain and string of Asian markets raised its international cumulativetotal to $14.4m.

The picture opened on $1.9mon 350 screens in Spain, while other table-topping launches saw it take$556,000 on 155 in Thailand, $462,000 on 109 in the Philippines, and $214,000on 40 in Malaysia.

New Zealand and Indonesia producedrespective first place grosses of $177,000 on 40 and $142,000 on 52, whileTaiwan yielded $238,000 on 91 screens for third place. After two weekends inthe UK Elektra stands on $2.4m.

The Aviator added $1.2m on 390 in its third weekend in Spain, theonly market where Fox International has rights, raising the total there to$6.1m.
