German distributor Stephan Hutter of Prokino, No Man's Land producer Cedomir Kolar, Dogville co-producer Els Vandevorst from the Netherlands' Isabella Films, UK producer and European Film Academy (EFA) chairman Nik Powell, and Eurimages secretary general Renate Roginas will serve on the international jury of next year's European Pitch Point to be held during the forthcoming Berlinale on February 10.

The jury will select the twelve most promising screenwriters and their projects from some 160 submitted from all over Europe. After attending preparation workshops in Amsterdam (Jan 3-6) and Berlin (Feb 9), the writers will then present their projects to an audience of producers and commissioning editors in three-minute pitches and "roundtables" at the Berlinale Talent Campus.

The event, organised by the Berlin-based Script House with the EFA, Swiss training institution Focal, and the Amsterdam-based Maurits Binger Film Institute, is one of 14 initiatives planning various events in 2003, and which have over Euros 2.4m in likely forthcoming support from the European Commission (EC) as part of its MEDIA Promotion initiative.
