New York-based Elephant Eye Films has closed its first pre-sale on Craig Zobel's Turkey In The Straw. All rights for the Middle East have been taken by Falcon Films.

The project is Zobel's follow-up to 2007 Sundance hit Great World Of Sound, which has been also screening at the EFM market for Elephant Eye.

The under-$5m project will start shooting in April in South Carolina.

'There has been great turnout for Great World of Sound screenings and so much interest in pre-sales for Turkey, we're excited to see what happens,' Elephant Eye's co-founder Kim Jose told ScreenDaily.com.

Elephant Eye is also close to closing a deal with Japan for breakdancing documentary Planet B-Boy. That has already sold to Australia (Madman), Spain (Sogecable), Hong Kong (Intercontinental), and Canada (Mongrel).
