Universal Pictures has promoted Andrew Fenady to the newly created position of co-president of physical production.

Fenady will continue to report to president of physical production James Brubaker. The pair will play a greater role in overseeing all aspects of physical production including production planning, budgeting, scheduling, crew hiring and managing day-to-day film-making operations.

Brubaker called Fenady 'an exceptionally talented and committed executive', adding: 'With today's film-making processes facing ever greater challenges with worldwide locations, more involved and detailed use of CGI and a stronger desire for realism from film-makers, Andrew's experience and common-sense approach have proven invaluable to the company.'

Fenady is currently overseeing physical production on The Wolf Man, Repossession Mambo, Big Brothers and Traveling. Titles in post-production under his purview include Wanted, which was shot in the Czech Republic and Chicago, and the comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

Fenady joined Universal in June 2000 as director of physical production and was promoted two years later to vice president and then to senior vice president of physical production two year after that.
